I sometimes like to know a bit of the history of the drink I’m making.
Gin Basil Smash is the creation of Jorg Meyer, owner of Bar Le Lion and Boilerman in Hamburg Germany. Created in the summer of 2008 and was originally named GIN Pesto. Meyer blogged about his new creation July 2008 and has since grown in popularity and came to be known as the Gin Basil Smash. It even won the 2008 Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards. Recipes are a guideline but not the absolute bible when recreating it to your liking. Variations are endless! Play with different types of herbs that you love..lavender, sage or mint!
This cocktail is so smooth…sensational…drink it to the last drop! Will leave you wanting more, and there’s nothing wrong with that..after all basil is a vegetable..you’re welcome!
